Web 2.0 Expo: Liveblogging day 1 - April 15, 2007
Fred and I are attending the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco this week. Today is workshop day. We’re dividing and conquering to get as much coverage as we can. My first stop is The Iterative App in which I hope to pick up some techniques for improving and streamlining our interactive delivery process and make sure we’re on the same page with our clients.
The main idea behind Web 2.0 is collaboration and communication. Wikipedia says:
Though the term suggests a new version of the Web, it does not refer to an update to Internet or World Wide Web technical standards, but to changes in the ways those standards are used. According to Tim O’Reilly, “Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.”
Using the internet as a platform for speaking with your customers - that’s where we’re heading, and quickly. I’m looking forward to learning and collaborating here in SFO, and sharing that with you.
More to come…
